Top Elements in Writing Powerful Management Essays

There are many elements in essay writing. In management essays, the focus lies more on the typeface, first sentence, second sentence, the paragraph, the detailed explanation, and the uniqueness of the essay. Each element complements the other. No element is greater than the other since all of them partake in creating powerful and persuasive management essays.

The typeface is similar to handwriting. A few decades ago, people place important attention to penmanship or the legibility of the writing in order to create persuasive articles. Fast forward now to the Internet age, more and more people are gauging towards a paperless society, penmanship already has a new name called typeface. A typeface has an aesthetic aspect to it that renders articles legible or not, interesting to read or downright boring. In writing management essays, what matters most is not the individual’s preference of what typeface to use rather, it is on what typeface that the readers can easily comprehend. Little that writers know, typefaces have a psychological impact on readers’ understanding or comprehension of the written work. Closely knitted letters give readers greater difficulty in understanding content whilst equally spaced ones are not strenuous to the eyes thus giving them a more comfortable read.

The first sentence marks the beginning of the writer’s ideas. First sentences are obviously opening statements and they should grab readers’ attention. Since first sentences are critical, it must be eye-catching, short, crisp and snappy. The first sentence must give out clear ideas on what the management essay is all about.

After the first sentence, the second sentence is the next focus. The second sentence supports the ideas emphasised in the first sentence. It must never lose the momentum of the first sentence, but rather, it must build up the momentum already established. The readers’ interest is guided by the momentum of the ideas; without establishing enough momentum then the readers’ attention may falter.

Next to sentences is the paragraph. Think of a paragraph as a convenient container of all the sentences. Thus, all sentences must be clear and cohesive enough in order to make a good paragraph. The indicator of a good paragraph is through its idea packaging. A paragraph must package prominently the critical ideas of the essay. The readers must easily see the dazzling shimmer of the packaged thoughts to get the gist of the paragraph.

On the other hand, detailed explanations are usually given in the middle of the management essay. Detailed explanations are usually heavy in compositional content and may be too critical or insightfully analytical. However, the writer must be skillful enough to translate heavy ideas into clear cut sizes of information to make it digestible to the readers. Heavy ideas tend to turn off readers’ interest for the essay.

The ultimate point of a management essay is its uniqueness. Readers are always interested of essay contents that have something new to offer. Your essay is unique when it leaves a lasting lesson that readers will appreciate. Without a unique substance, a management essay will never stand out amongst the rest.
